This is an archived version, kept so you can always see exactly what applied and when. The current documents are at daybell.app/terms and daybell.app/privacy.
The deal. daybell is front-desk software for learning centers: check-in, scheduling, and parent messaging. Your first 30 days are free with no card required; after that it's the monthly price shown at signup, and you can cancel any time from your billing page.
Your data is yours. Everything your center enters can be exported at any time. If you cancel, we keep your data for 90 days so you can come back or export, then delete it.
Your responsibilities. You confirm you have the right to enter the student and parent information you add, and that recorded texting consent is genuine. Pickup texts must only go to families who agreed to receive them, daybell enforces this in software, and you agree to it in practice.
Service. We work hard to keep daybell available and your data safe, including offline operation at the desk and continuous backups. daybell is provided as-is; our total liability is limited to the fees you paid in the last 12 months.

The short version: your center's data belongs to your center. We store what you enter, student first names, schedules, parent contact numbers, visit history, to run your front desk. We never sell it, share it, or use it for advertising.
Student privacy. daybell is built for minimal data: first names and a last initial are enough to run a center. Session notes are internal to your staff and are never sent to parents.
Text messages. Pickup texts are sent only to contacts whose consent your center has recorded. Any parent can opt out at any time by replying STOP, and that choice cannot be overridden by staff.
Where data lives. Your data is stored encrypted at rest with our hosting providers in the United States, with continuous backups. When you cancel, you can export everything, and we delete your data on request. The companies that process data on our behalf are listed at daybell.app/subprocessors.
How long we keep things. By category:
| Data | Kept |
|---|---|
| Student roster & contacts | While enrolled; removable per student on request, and deleted with your center 90 days after cancellation |
| Attendance & visit records | Up to 7 years (rolling), always exportable |
| Messages with families | Up to 3 years; delivery logs up to 2 years |
| Texting consent records | 5 years after consent is revoked (legal defence) |
| Loan records | Until returned, plus 1 year |
| Parent app accounts | Until the parent deletes their account in the app |
| Terms-acceptance records | Retained (they are the legal record of agreement) |
| Encrypted backups | 30-day rolling window |
Deletion. Parents can delete their app account themselves, in the app. Centers can remove a single student (with all their records) from the student's page, export everything from Settings, and have the whole center deleted by asking us.
If something goes wrong. If we discover a security incident affecting your center's data, we investigate, contain it, and notify the affected center without unreasonable delay with what we know and what we're doing. Centers notify their own families; we help.
